Charles H. Nugent, Jr., Esquire was recently successful in obtaining a settlement in the amount of $250,000.00 on behalf of a Nugent Law client in a federal civil rights case. The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court.
The Nugent Law client was shot by a police officer during the execution of a search warrant at the client's home. The police officer claims that a pit bull ran at him after entering the home and that he shot the dog to defend himself, accidentally shooting the Nugent client. The case was aggressively defended, and a judge denied motions for summary judgment and dismissal.
